The Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime, Senator Fatai Buhari on Saturday said there is a better and glorious future for Nigeria under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Buhari who stated this in Ogbomoso while speaking at his 4th ramadan lecture, declared that the President Muhammadu Buhari led APC government is committed to making this country a better one for all.
The Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial district emphasized that though, the present situation in Nigeria may not be suitable, it will surely give way to a better and glorious future for the country.
“Changing Nigeria is a collective responsibility and with the leadership of President Buhari in place, there is hope that we will all begin to see and enjoy dividends of democracy in a better form,” he said.
He then asked Nigerians to rally round the present President Buhari led administration in the country towards ensuring that the dreams of having a great Nigeria are achieved.
Speaking further, Senator Buhari urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the peace and progress of the country, saying, “my brothers and sisters in Islam and Christians including other religion should use this period of Ramadan and any other moment of prayer to pray for the country and its leaders”.
In his lecture entitled “Islam and the fight against corruption”, Dr Shobuur Alaya charged parent and people in position of responsibility to always imbibe the doctrine and practice of Islam in their day to day activities.
“Islamic religion does not encourage corruption, and we should live our lives according to the dictate of the religion and norms of our society’.
The Ramadan lecture attended by dignitaries including Dr Saka Balogun, the Chief of staff to former governor of Oyo State Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala, his deputy Alhaji Rasak Gbadegesin, Chief Imam of Ogbomoso land, Alhaji Yekeen Asafa Sanusi, Alhaji Bolaji Dauda Afolabi, Oyo state coordinator of NACOMYO.
Senator Buhari presented a car gift to the guest lecturer.
