The next Ronaldo will come from our Orphanage homes – Oladipo

Wife of the President General of Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Club, Mrs Morenike Oladipo has predicted that the next Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Austin Jay Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo should be expected from the country’s orphanage homes.
She disclosed this to NNSports shortly after visiting the SOS Children Village, Isolo, Lagos and Babs-Es-Salam Orphanage Home situated at Joel Ogunaike Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos where she donated food items, toiletries and cash to the homes as part of activities marking her 50th birthday celebration.
According to her, ‘I’m touched by the plight of the less privileged in the society which has prompted me to come and give my widows mite to ameliorate their sufferings as well as enable them join her in celebrating her golden jubilee.
“This I hope to do more often as my own little way of ameliorating their sufferings.
“Also looking at the children, I know that some of them will later become great in future and we will see the next Ronaldo, Messi, Okocha and Kanu coming from this home”, she explained.
Earlier the in the day at the home, coordinator, family department, Bumi Onifade promised that the items will be well utilized, expressing appreciation for her gesture, urging other well meaning Nigerians to emulate her and her husband.
At the Bab – Es- Salam Orphanage, Mrs. OLadipo commended the management of the home for not only taking good care of the children but maintaining a clean environment and efficiency in the management of the orphanage.
“I am highly impressed with the serene environment of the orphanage. I am equally happy with the efficiency with which the management is handling affairs at the home and the cordial relationship existing between the children and staff, and I urge you not to relent in your efforts in making the home one of the best in the country”, she concluded.
In his remarks, Head of the orphanage, Sheik Hassan Tahir while commending her for the donations, explained that the home which was established on December 6, 1990 has produced graduates and some youths who are happily married, noting that the orphanage has also won many laurels in sports.
“The home which was set up in 1990 with the sole aim of taking care of the less privileged children in the society has produced graduates in many disciplines and some are abroad while others are happily married.
“In the area of sports, the orphanage has won many laurels. We are one of the best in karate in Lagos State and one of our wards represented Lagos in karate at the National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2002 and Gateway Games 2006”, he stated.
Husband of the celebrant, Dr. Rafiu OLadipo commended the orphanage for giving hope to vulnerable children in the society, urging them not to relent in their efforts.
