The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has appealed to the German Government and the European Union to support Nigeria in total elimination of terrorism.
He made the appeal, when the President of Germany, Joachim Gauck, visited the National Assembly on Thursday.
“Nigeria has much to learn from Germany, and much to gain from stronger Nigerian-German relations. In this regard, I called on the German government and the European Union to lend us their unflinching support and solidarity in order for us to fully eliminate terrorism from the West African sub region,” he said.
He explained that in their discussions, they focused on ways that Nigeria and Germany can foster stronger ties and bonds, as well as collaborate on economic, security, and legislative issues.
“I believe that every effort in these crucial areas is a paramount investment in the areas of regional stability, security and development,” Saraki said.
