Team Kaduna’ s medals at the ongoing National Youth Games swelled as the state picked a total of four medals.
The haul was a gold, a silver and two bronze medals.
Dina Micah gave Kaduna its second gold medal from event number 301 in Dart.
Kaduna’s male and female hockey teams both provided a medal each, with the females delivering a silver, while their male counterparts settled for bronze medal.
Another bronze medal was claimed by Team Kaduna in the +50kg karate, after an impressive show by Israel Yusuf.
In another event, Kaduna’s basketball team subdued their Bayelsa counterparts 11-6.
The state’s athletes and players in their impressive run in a number of events on day-four, also saw Elizabeth Alege and Bashir Muhammed book a semi-final places after winning their respective heats 100m heat for female and male athletics events respectively.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Sports Development, Jummai Nuhu who watched the athletes posting encouraging performances, described the feat as precursor to podium finish.
She said the dominant first position finish by the two athletes, it further demonstrates the state of readiness and preparedness.
Ms Nuhu lauded the commitment and profound technical supervision given to Team Kaduna by the ministry’s personnel.
“You can see how displine Kaduna state athletes are and how they freely relate well with the personnel in the ministry, which shows total professionalism”.
The Public Relations Officer who commended the athletes and players, urged them to continue to put in their best inorder to be notice by national call.
