Tanker fire razes church, 6 houses, 5 cars in Ogbomoso

Tragedy struck in Ogbomoso town in Oyo state with no fewer than seven buildings including a church, five cars and other valuables worth millions of naira destroyed during an inferno.
New Nigerian gathered that it was confusion galore at Idi Oro area of the town on Monday evening when fire reportedly broke out from a tanker said to have lost control with the fire quickly spreading into other buildings in the area.
It was reliably learnt that no life was lost during the inferno but left many injured while struggling to escape the inferno.
Commiserating with victims of the fire incident, the Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial district and Chairman Senate Committee on Information, Communication Technology and Cyber crime, Senator Fatai Buhari in a press statement made available to journalists in Ibadan described the fire incident as unfortunate, saying, he was shocked on seeing the extent of damage done by the inferno.
“I was shocked when I saw the extent of the damage done by the inferno but thank God no life was lost,” he said.
Senator Buhari however stressed that going by the current effort towards ensuring the completion of the Oyo – Ogbomoso axis of the express road, such an incident will be reduced.
The Senator hinted that he has used his position as member of the Senate Committee on Appropriation to facilitate N150 million for the maintenance of the old road and  N5billion as part of the money to be used for the ogbomoso – Oyo express road.
