Tambuwal behind the emergence of Dogara as Speaker – Doguwa

The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was behind the intrigues that led to the emergence of Honourable Yakubu as the Speaker of the House of Representatives in line with the tenets of Sir Ahmadu Bello of carrying every Northerner along in the scheme of thing in the country.
Honourable Ado Doguwa who represented Speaker Dogara at the 50th anniversary events to mark the assassination of Sir Ahmadu Bello and others at the Arewa House, Kaduna.
According to him, Tambuwal exhibited that trait which Sir Ahmadu utilized to carry Northern minorities and Christians along with candour giving them all sense of belonging. “He did this to emulate Sardauna because he felt that we have to carry our Northern Christian brothers along,” he added.
According to him, Tambuwal worked round the clock to convince them to elect Dogara Speaker to complement President Muhammadu Buhari who is a Muslim. He said though some of them initially toed the party line, the pressure and convinction from Tambuwal made them make a u-turn and supported Dogara in line with northern unity.
He described Tambuwal as being fit to step into Sardauna’s shoes in politics of inclusiveness especially going by the way he led the House while the Speaker with little or no crisis. “If there is anyone that can fit into the late Sardauna’s shoes in the North today, it is the Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal,” Doguwa,said.
The Speaker praised the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation and the legacy organizations for organizing the event, assuring them of the support of the House of Representatives, especially its Northern Caucus in all their future endeavours.
