Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen -In -Islam Worldwide, Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke has advised Muslims to sustain the virtues of the just completed annual Ramadan fasting.
Professor Olagoke who gave the advice in his Eid-El-Fitri message made available to journalists in Ibadan, declared that the Ramadan fasting period was that of mercy, knowledge, charity and piety.
Emphasizing the need for believers to maintain the qualities experienced during the Ramadan fast, the Cleric said “to do otherwise would amount to back sliding”.
“They are just disappointed seeing the people including Muslim adherents returning to leaking the regurgitated vomit after the fasting period”
On the gains of Ramadan, Professor Olagoke said it is “to strengthen the will-power which is essential to individual and society, instill in the Muslims, the self discipline and scrupulous obedience to God’s command, bringing the faithful nearer to God among others should be kept alive”
He also called on religious leaders in the country to live by examples of their lives to their followers by being courageous to preach true words of God that could sanitise the society.
The Cleric then urged political leaders especially those that observed the Ramadan fasting to allow the fear of God manifest in their governance saying “otherwise breaking of fast with fellow top leaders when the governed are wallowing in poverty due to unpaid salaries is repugnant to Allah”.
Commenting on the nation’s growing democracy, he lamented that it has been perverted by corruption, insincerity and other vices and that theo-democracy would be an alternative to move the nation forward as “Theo-Democracy has the potential to eradicate poverty and promote prosperity, replace insecurity and  violence with security and tranquility”.
