Suspected Kidnapper of Uniosun students arraign

Osun State Police Command has on Wednesday, dragged a 28 years old Adedamola Olagoke,  who was suspected to have masterminded the kidnap of the two missing Uniosun student, Samuel Eke and Akinduro Robert before the magistrate court sitting in Oshogbo.

Adedamola was apprehended by the police on the 10th of September, 2016, five days after Samuel and Robert went missing.

The suspect, who was prosecuted on three count charges relating to unlawful imprisonment and kidnapping, pleaded not guilty to allegations levelled against him.

The prosecuting counsel, ASP Mireti Wilson, alleged that, ” that you Olagoke Adedamola ‘m’ and others now at large between same period and place at the aforementioned magistral district did unlawfully kidnapped one Akinduro Robert and took him to unknown destination in such a manner as to prevent any person entitled to have access to him from discovering the place he is imprisoned and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 364(2) of the criminal code cap 34 vol.II of OSUN State of Nigeria 2002.

“That you Olagoke Adedamola and others now at large between same period and place at the aformentioned magistral district did unlawfully kidnapped one Samuel Eke and took him to unknown destination in such a manner as to prevent him from discovering the place he imprisoned and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 364(2) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. II laws of Osun-State of Nigeria 2002.

“But the counsel to the respondent, Mr. Kazeem Badmus prayed for a bail on behalf of Adedamola, emphasizing that the accused person would be committed to the progress of the trial.He therefore, said, the accused person was an asthma patient, whose health status had been communicated to the commissioner of police.The pleas of the defence counsel were turned down as Magistrate Falilat Sodamade ordered that the accused person be remanded in prison custody till the next adjourned date, which falls on the 6th of October, 2016.

However, the relatives of the accused person have promised to unravel the whereabouts of the missing students with the support of the police.
