Stay Off Crime, CP Warns Akwa Ibom Corps Members  




The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, CP Olateyo Durosinmi has rekindled the warning to Batch B Stream 2 Corps members posted to the state for their national assignment to stay off all forms of crime, especially illicit drugs and cultism that could ruin their present and future endeavours. 

CP Durosinmi, who made the warning on Friday during their swearing in ceremony at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in the state, however, assured the corps members of their security and safety.

He enjoined them to make new friends and keep good company as well as take advantage of the opportunities available during the NYSC service year to better themselves and society.

The CP,  joined the Akwa Ibom State Governor,  Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports to welcome the newly corps members to the state.

Meanwhile, CP Durosinmi has decorated one hundred and forty-three (143) Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) who were recently promoted from the rank of Inspectors of Police. 

The CP, who conveyed the hearty congratulations of the acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, advised the newly promoted Officers to double their efforts in crime fighting and maintenance of law and order in Akwa Ibom State.

CP Durosinmi, who noted that promotion comes with additional responsibilities, urged those promoted to act professionally while discharging their duties and eschew all vices capable of denting the image of the Police Force.
