The National President, Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), Mr. Eziekle David has called for the improvement of science teachers welfare at both public and private institutions.
He made the call during an interview with New Nigerian on the state of science teachers in Nigeria.
Mr. Eziekle said, much needs to be done to save science teachers from switching to another jobs.
According to him, as the eorld is changing fast from analogue to digital, science teachers should be given special consideration.
The National President also advised governments at all levels to engage science teachers on training and retraining to ensure improvement on their part.
He said, sacking teachers is not the best option, arguing that sacking the experienced ones and employing new teachers will not solve the problem surrounding the science students.
Mr. Ezieckle maintained that as the National President of STAN, he will do all he can to see improvement is achieved in science subjects during his tenure.
