Stakeholders Commend Zulum’s Education, Developmental Projects

The member representing Marte, Nganzai and Monguno Federal Constituency, House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Hon. Barrister Mohammed Tahir Monguno has applauded  Governor Babagana Umara Zulum over his strategic and transformational development projects.

Monguno  who made the commendation  in Monguno  while speaking with journalists recently, also assured the people of his Constituency as a federal lawmaker to make concerted efforts  he will influence federal government projects  to Monguno to complement the efforts of the State Govenror , Prof.. Babagana Umara Zulum.

He also said that measures would be taken to ensure adequate provision of security to protect lives and property  as well as their farmlands in the area as government resettlement and livelihoods support have really improved socio economic in the area including farming in addressing food scarcity and hunger with the return of IDPs back to their communities and farms. In

 State Education Trust Fund (BSETFund), Hon. Maina Yaumi supervised IDPs children from Kukawa LGA  said,” His Excellency, Govenror Babagana Umara Zulum having seen the importance of education. For any society to develop fully and its potentials in education must be socio  economically, harnessed. 

” Education is the bedrock for any development. That is why the governor decided to take the bull by the horn to improve on the quality and standard of education in the state with the constitution  of Primary Schools Enrolment Committee headed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Professor Hussaini Marte Isa and Hon. Maina Yaumi as the Executive Secretary. We started the exercise last year with the registration and enrolment of orphans.

“Today  we are registering out of school age children, drop outs of the poor, less privileged, the deceased  and physically challenged. The  governor mandated  us to come to Monguno to register the children last year and today here to continue profile of the school age children from 6to 7 years and  13 to 14 years.

“The governor had emphasized that we should register those that have not enter school or never Enrol in school today from Monguno, Marte, Kukawa and Guzamala LGAs. Tomorrow we  will be registering those that come from other LGAs.

“Now in Monguno, all the children that have not enter school at whole ranging from 6/7 years to 13/14 years. And the Governor so willingly said the exercise will continue tomorrow. That is the Enrolment will continue. This exercise is ongoing . The govenror physically supervised the exercise and is being accompanied by both national and state assembly members  a d top government functionaries that are participating in the exercise.

“This, the emphasis is that , the exercise is  an important and ongoing. Thank God  that the govenror is facing  it squarely. It is for all the children whether orphan, from  less privileged, deceased, poor, rich family, male or female,” Yaumi said 

The State Commissioner of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RRR) who is also the Deputy  Chairman of the high powered State  Committee in Resettlement  of IDPs, Engineer Mustapha Gubio  who also supervised   Marte LGA IDPs children alongside BOSHA Member from Marte LGA, Hon. Mohammed also said,”the governor thought it wise for him to have purposely and physically initiate this exercise for out of school children and.supervise it.”

“As you can see, Monguno is a host Community for other LGAs it the north. Today, I have registered more than 1000 , both males a d females, both new and old ones. Our people are willing to send their children to school without any encouragement. 

“They are always willing and there is no any challenge so far experienced . With the security  improvement, people   I thank the governor for taking up the challenge to ensure these children that are out of street and enrolled into school to learn.

The governor has provided all what is needed for the children to be going to school”,  Gubio said..

While State Commissioner for Local Government  &  Emirate Affairs who also supervised IDPs children  from Guzamala LGA, Hon. Sungun Mai Mele who supervised Guzamala LGA  IDPs  children said” ,as a representative of Guzamala,  I always ensure  that everything is going in smoothly to capture children of the decades, children completely out of school a d the less privileged from the school age of 7-13 years by registering and capturing them for Enrolment. 

” The  registration now  primary school enrollment between the ages of 7 and 13 years for primary while 13/14 years for the junior secondary and Senior secondary school. This is continuous. The registration is in sections of males females. There is no any problem.

 “The children are enrolled accordingly and at the end of the day we will able to know the total number of children registered and enrolled. We register  and enrol all the children without any problem. They parents are happy. They children are also happy a d eager to go to school too”, Melee said 

The Borno State House of Assembly (BOSHA) member representing Marte LGC State Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Gambomi said, ” I am very happy to be here today and thank the governor for taking this step to see that these out of  children are being  enrolled into school.”

” This is the Enrolment system to say that children out of school are now  back  to school. All the social vices will be reduced drastically  if not  eradicated completely. This will encourage the children have a good home and developed society,” Gambomi said.
