Special Schools for the disabled in Nasarawa State will soon see the light of day.
Governor Tanko Almakura, who made this known Tuesday while inspecting the ongoing construction work in the western and northern zones of the state, said that the State Government has scaled down the Keffi and Gudi Special Schools to take care of only primary school children .
Governor Almakura explained that the Special schools in Keffi and Gudi would service their zones by accepting primary school students with disability who stay nearby thereby enabling them to start school close to their home, easing the parents and serve as a future pool for those going to the special secondary school that would be in Lafia, as that of Lafia would be taking care of both primary and secondary school children.
Gov. Almakura expressed satisfaction with the work at the Gudi Special School which he said is at the high side of completion and will be put to use in the next few months.
The Governor urged the contractors to expedite action on the remaining special Schools projects so as to complete them at about the same time , stating that Mr. President was to commission the Lafia Comprehensive Special School in February with the hope that the remaining would take off as soon as possible.
