Despite the economic hardship in the country, Christians in Southern Kaduna are optimistic the 2017 Christmas Festivities would be hitch free.
This is principally as a result of the relative peace the area currently enjoys as against what was experienced last year, due to deadly attacks.
A Clergyman, Albert Abdullahi Saidu of the ECWA Good News Garaje Kafanchan; said on the season, glorified God, for the Hope they have in celebrating a successful Christmas Season.
Rev. Saidu recalled the ugly attacks that engulfed the area last year and prayed against a repeat.
Also, Apostle Emmanuel Ego Bakoof the Good News Power Base Cathedral Kafanchan, appreciated the prevailing atmosphere in the area, expressing the hope that it would translate to a memorable Yuletide celebration.
The Cleric however appealed to members of the public to shun all acts, capable of jeopardizing the celebrations; to achieve the intended purpose.
Meanwhile, prices of commodities have remained relatively stable, even with the Christmas at hand. Bags of rice that cost N17, 500 and N16, 000, have remained the same, while a kilo of meat remain N 1, 200.Transport fare has however risen, due to the prevailing fuel scarcity in the country, the transport fare from Kafanchan to Kaduna that used to be N1, 000 is now N1, 300, while Kafanchan to Jos which used to be N 800 is now N1, 000.
