for the displaced persons in their domains .

Mr Iliya Ayiya Anthony, the Godogodo paramount ruler while speaking on the peace initiative introduced in the area said many people displaced by the crisis in his domain lacks food and where to lay their heads.
According to him, the main concern of the people now was the lack of food, places of abode for those displaced from their homes and farmlands.
“How long would the displaced live hand to mouth at this period of global economic recession?” The traditional ruler asked. He appealed to government to make more efforts towards the return of the displaced to their homes, within a short period of time.
Meanwhile, the traditional rulers of Godogodo and Nikyob
Chiefdoms in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state have commended the peace building efforts of the local government chapter of Community and Peace Partnership (CPP).
The Traditional rulers made the commendation while receiving in their palaces, executive members of CPP, Jema’a local government, who paid them courtesy/condolence visits over recent attacks in the area.
The Chief of Godogodo , Mal. Iliya Ayiya Antony, expressed
gratitude for the peace mediation efforts of CPP which is
aimed at finding lasting peace in the chiefdom since the Ninte Crisis that began in May last year.
The traditional ruler said CPP was the first to visit their
communities that were attack. He said the organization is
working transparently in partnership with the community in the search for peace.
According to the traditional ruler, his council and his people
are interested and are encouraged by the visit to continue exploring ways of sustaining peace mediation
organizations, inter faith mediation centre (IMC) and
Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) in the peace building process.
Similarly, appreciating the CPP visit and mediation initiatives, the Tum Nikyob, Mal. Tanko Tete said his community and traditional council are encouraged to remain on the path of peace, stressing that “My people have continued to recognize dialogue as one of the potent means of ending any crisis and would continue to do so, until lasting peace is achieved”.
However he appealed, “If my people or I have offended any
one, we should be informed in a non-violent manner, instead of these attacks”.
The two traditional rulers appealed to CPP to include their Chiefdoms in the peace building empowerment programmes/projects for 2017, and assure cooperation and support to end the lingering escalating crises.
The Jema’a Chapter Executives of CPP led by the Assistant
coordinator, Mrs. Eunice Peter, said the visit was to condole the traditional rulers, their councils and people over recent attacks by gunmen, which claimed lives and property.
CPP and its supporting agencies, the Development peace
Initiatives (DPI) Kaduna and the Nigerian Stability and
Reconciliation programme (NSRP) , Mrs. Eunice Peter said
they are concern and committed to the peace building and
sustenance process, hence the visit.
“CPP will continue to solicit the support and cooperation of
Traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, individuals, organizations and governments to ensure peace is restored and sustained, which will fast-track development.”
She noted that dialogue remains one of the most reliable means of settling conflict amicably, Mrs Peter appealed to members of the public, Jema’a Local Government and Kaduna state in particular, to fear God, respect the sacredness of human lives, exhibit justice, tolerance and forgive offenders, to attract God’s blessings, enhancement of peace and development.
