Following a fresh attack on two Communities of Jema’a Local Government Area where six were killed and several others injured on Christmas Eve in Ungwan Mailafiya in Kwagiri District of Gwong Chiefdom in Jema’a Local Government Area and earlier attack resulting to four deaths, while sustained various degree of injuries in Nindem Community of Godogodo Chiefdom, a lawmaker has condemned in totality the murders.
Member representing Jema’a Local Government at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honourable Labari S. Tella has called on security agencies to sit up, while calling the people to be vigilant.
He expressed this in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on  Monday said,” The fresh unprovoked attack on Nindem Community and Ungwan Mailafiya in Kwagiri District of Gwong Chiefdom and  was attacked on Christmas eve that resulted to death of six persons, including a child of about six years, and several others wounded is barbaric and should be condemned by all civilized people.

“Such acts should have been forgotten with the stone age but it is unfortunate that the perpetrators are carrying on with reckless abandon,” he said.

It explained that it is disheartening that the ugly incident is happening barely a day after four people were killed in Nindem Community of Godogodo Chiefdom.

The lawmaker wondered why the security agencies are not empowered enough to protect innocent law abiding citizens.

“Just when we are still looking for best means of protecting ourselves from kidnappers and violent armed gangs, our rural communities have been ravaged by gunmen who take pleasure in sucking out lives,” he lamented.

He said that information at his disposal has it that the victims have been moved to the hospital in Kafanchan.

“The dead bodies have been moved to the mortuary  while those who sustained injuries are responding to treatment at Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial hospital in Kafanchan.”
