The Southern Kaduna, Zonal Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Luka Shemang has met with the members of Kaduna State House of Assembly to discuss the issues of insecurity and other problems militating against progress of zone.
The party leaders, who expressed concerns over the unnecessary sentiments raised over closure of schools in areas affected by the crisis, urged members of the State House of Assembly to prevail over the Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai to consider reopening the schools closed due to crisis in parts of Southern Kaduna .
Though, the closure of the tertiary institutions in Southern Kaduna was in good fate to save lives of student and property, he appealed to the Governor to consider reopening the schools so that the students, who could be used as tools to forment troubles in the hands of mischief makers can resume studies .
The zonal Chairman, who led eight local government chairmen and other party stakeholders on a courtesy call on the Assembly members, said the visit was basically to intimate and discuss how to find lasting solutions to frequent attacks and killings in Southern Kaduna.
His words: “We are here for a meeting with our lawmakers from Zone 3, to discuss issues concerning the security of our area and other issues disturbing Southern Kaduna area.
“We are also here to discuss and urge our lawmakers to meet the Governor and inform him of our resolve to work with stakeholders to ensure once the schools are opened lives of students and their property are protected.
“We are equally here to discuss how to support APC government in Southern Kaduna and the state “
“We have heard from our lawmakers and heard from us the reason we need to come together to strengthen that party
“But we discovered that our brothers who are seeking for political positions have been trying to bring some misunderstanding with the communities and arrived on how to live together in peace and harmony
“It is good that as party leaders , we visit our lawmakers to find out the best ways to tackle the issues of attacks and killings in Southern Kaduna “.
The APC Chairman, Sanga Local Government Area, Inuwa Same in his contribution during the meeting with lawmakers, posited: “We must find a way to live together, knowing that without peace in Southern Kaduna, there will be no progress and development.
He also appealed for peace and calm, noting: ” The ruling party APC is committed to ensuring the electorate that came out enmasse to APC enjoy the dividends of democracy both in the state and at all levels of government .
“This why we are calling on our people to support and join APC to achieve the desired sustainable progress not only in Southern Kaduna, but across Nigeria .
