South West PDP plans ahead of P/Harcourt Convention as Chairmanship aspirants disagrees with zoning formula

In preparation for August 17, 2016 National Convention of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Port Harcourt, the leadership of the Party in the South West has zoned the position of the National Chairman of the party to Lagos and Ogun States.
The party also zoned the position of the National Publicity Secretary and National Treasurer to Osun and Oyo States, while the position of the National Treasurer goes to Ondo and Ekiti States.
Speaking with Journalists after a stakeholders meeting of the party held at the Ondo State Government House, Akure, the National Vice Chairman (South West) of the party, Dr Eddy Olafeso announced that the positions which were zoned to the South West were shared fairly among the six states of the zone.
The meeting which started at 4.00pm and ended at 6:20pm, Olafeso said, provided an avenue for the leaders of the party to deliberate on unity and peace among members.
According to Olafeso, the three positions zoned to the South West are sensitive, hence the careful sharing of the positions among the states.
He said members of the party have resolved to embrace peace and work together.
However, a chairmanship aspirant, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja who is from Oyo State said delegates from the state are not pleased with the arrangement, adding that he would forge ahead with his ambition.
