The nation’s centre of commerce, Kano State is now witnessing shortage of cash to engage in business at both the metropolitan  and rural communities as monitored by our correspondent.

Similarly, almost all the Point of Sales (PoS) operators described the situation as killing their activities, especially when there is no cash due to the issue of new Naira and deadline extension across the country.

Furthermore, all banks branches in the city of Kano were seen very congested as everybody wanted to withdraw money for daily needs, while government workers trooped to withdraw their salaries paid into their accounts.

Malam Adamu Inusa who had a chat with New Nigerian at Fidelity Bank Murtala Mohammed Way,  said that, “I have been here since morning but as at the time of speaking to you, I haven’t  got to the ATM stand due to overcrowding, and I don’t know what to do to have something for my today’s meal,” he concluded.

At  Bichi Town, our correspondent found out  that all the PoS operators closed shop due to the lack of cash in their possession, where some people were sighted on  a long queue at First Bank  to have something for domestic uses.

Most of the people that had  interaction with our correspondent,  called on the CBN to make the new notes available and in 5, 10, 20, 50, 100,and 200 Naira denominations in order to ease difficulty in getting small currency among the people.
