Sensitization Workshop On Importance Of Community Participation In Local Governance Opens In Katsina



A two day sensitization workshop on the importance of community and grassroots participation in the administration of local government has been opened in Katsina.

The workshop was organized by Danyari Global Trust Limited in collaboration with Katsina State Local Government Service Commission.      

The workshop is being attended by information and welfare officers of the 34 local government areas of the state.

Declaring it open, the Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Usman Mamman Maska noted that the training is part of the state administration’s commitment to improving the capacity of the local government workers.

Alhaji Usman Mamman Maska represented by the Director Training of the Commission, Malam Abdulhadi Yusuf Saulawa described the workshop as timely in view of the need for public participation in governance.

The chairman expressed optimism that the workshop would contribute immensely towards sanitizing the participants in attaining effective local government administration.

Alhaji Usman Mamman Maska charged the participants to pay more attention to what they would be taught during the workshop to achieve the set objectives.

He appreciated the contribution of Danyari Global Trust Limited towards improving the capacity of the local government workers.

The Consultant of the workshop, Malam Abdull’azeez Lawal Danyari explained that the workshop was created to sensitize the participants on the importance of community participation in the local government administration.

Malam Abdulaziz Lawal Danyari commended the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari for his commitment to improving the capacity of civil servants as well as improving the living conditions of the electorate.
