Senator Sani places ailing Journalist on m‎onthly salary

The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, Comrade Shehu Sani, on Monday ‎offset hospital bill of ailing Kaduna based journalist, Femi Oyelola, of Peoples Daily Newspapers, who was knocked down by a car early this year.
Senator Sani also announced the placement of Femi on monthly stipends which will run until ‎he fully recovers from the ailment. Recalled that, Shehu Sani gave N200, 000 to him at St Gerald Hopsital where  hewas rushed to after the accident occured.
Speaking when he visited Femi in his home,‎ the Senator lamented the situation journalists are facing in the country, without job security and insurance for them, adding that journalists are the most vulnerable in the society.
Senator Sani who was of the view that Nigerians as a whole needs social insurance,‎ frowned at a situation where politicians uses and dumped Journalists at will, adding that Journalists most often than not are spectators of other people’s prosperity.
While encouraging Mr Oyelola to be strong ‎in his trying moment occasioned by the accident, the Senator also thanked Femi’s wife for ‎her steadfast and commitment in staying by her husband all through his trying moment.
In her response, Mrs Oyelola, commended the Senator for standing by the family. She prayed God to continue to lift and prosper him in his political career and future endeavours.
