The Zamfara State Government has described the recent allegations by Senator Kabir Marafa linking Governor Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar to  security breaches in some  parts of the state as the highest form of irresponsibility.
The government said the allegations by the Senator representing Zamfara Central clearly shows that he is desperate and will not mind soiling other people’s hard earned reputation in his bid to become relevant.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji stated this on Sunday while speaking to newsmen in Gusau.
He said the allegations by Senator Marafa are not only baseless and unfounded but a calculated attempt  to dampen the state government efforts.
“It is very unfortunate to hear this from Senator Marafa who has not even for once assisted or advised the state government in addressing the security challenges bedevilling the state only for him to now be casting aspersions on governor Yari,” he said.
Dankande added that the allegations by Senator Marafa at this time despite all the efforts that state government has been making in the fight against gunmen attacks in the state indicates that he is not in touch with his constituency.
“This is a person who had made  Abuja his permanent base and only contacts his constituents through social media or people who do not know anything about governance,” he said.
Dankande  said security is a national issue in the present day Nigeria as some other states namely Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Benue, Kaduna and Rivers, therefore the need for everyone to join hands in the fight against crimes and not to be blaming leaders for the security lapses.
“The efforts of the state government had remained unmatched having constituted a Peace and Reconciliation Committee headed by the deputy governor, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad which is still recovering thousands of weapons from repentant bandits,” he said.
Dankade therefore advised the senator to show leadership by example and identify with his people by coming home and joining hands with the state government in the fight against insurgency.
