Sen Akpan Hints On Economic Blueprint To Eradicate Poverty, Create Massive Employment In Akwa Ibom

Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, a frontline governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State and Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources Upstream, will next week unveil his economic blueprint that will eradicate poverty in the state and boost mass employment of indigenes of the state.
Akpan told a group of professionals, technocrats and senior officials from Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District based in Abuja and other northern states during a solidarity visit to him on Tuesday, that his Economic Blueprint geared towards eradicating poverty and boosting mass employment of indigenes will be unveiled next week in the state.
A release made available to New Nigerian in Uyo from the Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Organisation, a campaign platform of Senator Akpan’s 2023 governorship ambition has disclosed.
According to the release, Senator Akpan said that God was sending him to improve the condition of Akwa Ibom people, adding “I am on a divine mission to eradicate poverty among our people.
“You don’t run government as if all you want is profit. By next weekend, we will unveil our economic blueprint, to proffer local solution to local problem. We will run a government of the commoner by the commoner. We are no longer going to have a situation where a few people sit down and make decision that does not impact the man on the street”.
He stressed that, God brought him to the national platform at a time such as this to enable him build contacts and relationships  that will enable him go home and help our people.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr.Jerry Oton said the group is solidly behind his aspiration and is impressed with his agenda to eradicate poverty among our people. 
“With your short term, middle term and long term economic blueprint, we are confident that when you are there, our state will experience a positive change and our people will no longer be hungry”, Mr. Oton said, adding: “we are also supporting you in prayers”
He said the group which represents professionals and technocrats from across the 19 northern states, are  in touch with the grassroots at home as the members have all their voting cards to exercise their constitutional rights.
“We have seen your impact as a Senator. You’ve stood out among the senators from the state. You have sponsored quality bills especially in the petroleum sector. You can count on our support”, Mr. Oton said.
