The Chancellor, Doxa Institute, Kaduna, Professor Solomon Omoyiwa, has observed that the main problem the country is facing which has stunted its development is lack of selfless leadership.

He added, “ln Nigeria, we are faced with the challenge of lack of accountable and responsive leadership in the history of the country.”

Speaking at the Institute’s convocation and awards in Kaduna, Professor Omoyiwa lamented that Nigerians have for a long time been led by greedy leaders, who after taking the oath of office care less about the plights of the masses.

“Until the country is blessed with selfless leaders, we would continue to pass through one problem or the other as we journey through our wilderness to the promised land,” he observed.

Speaking on insecurity, Professor Omoyiwa stressed the need for traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the country to involve proactive measures towards finding solutions to the incessant crisis the society is characterized with.

He explained that Doxa Institute came up to raise young Nigerians with a mentality of selfless service to the nation through the words of God, adding, “The Institute has a proactive programme that any graduate of the Institute uses for a better approach to confront any challenge for a better tomorrow.

“The Institute is raising a new generation of Nigerians that will work tirelessly for the overall peace, unity and development of the country.”

An awardee of a doctorate degree of the Institute and an ambassadorial nominee, Mrs. Deborah Iliya, commended the efforts of the Institute for raising young Nigerians with the fear of God ready to contribute to the development of the country.

She noted that at this trying moments of the history of Nigeria, Nigerians should redouble their efforts towards contributing positively for a peaceful and developed country.

She assured of her readiness to partner with the institute towards ensuring the realization of its noble objectives for the benefit of all Nigerians.
