School Resumption: Ebonyi Records Low Turnout Of Students

School resumption across the 13 local government areas of Ebonyi State recorded low turnout of students.

 Most schools visited  by New Nigerian Newspapers were almost empty, while few students were seen around.

In a visit to New layout Primary School, Abakaliki, few pupils were seen in the classroom, while others were sighted busy playing football outside the school.

Also, in Okpaugwu Urban School 1 and 2, most of the teachers were seen in their offices, while few students were seen in the classrooms,  most of the classroom were observed to be empty.

Speaking with one of head teachers, Mrs Igwebe Loretta, she  said that the turnout of pupils in the morning was encouraging, but they were still expecting others to also resume for academic activities.

It was also observed that some of the school structures are dilapidated, while the entire school environment was almost covered with grasses.

At Lords Foundation International School, the school gate was locked and some students were sighted inside the school.
