The Deputy Controller, Nigerian Prison Service, Bauchi Command Mr. Abubakar Gurin has observed that Sambisa Forest is now hot for the insurgents who are running helter-skelter for their lives snitching into the larger population to cause a lot of havoc to the citizens.
Gurin who was speaking during a two-day workshop on roles of Private Guard companies in curbing insurgency in Bauchi, described the workshop as timely as, according to him, the disintegrating insurgents have no regard anybody in their attacks.
“This workshop is not only timely but also very important now that the Sambisa forest is very tight for the insurgents and they were running helter-skelter for their lives, and they are also running, coming to us so that they cause a lot of havoc” Deputy Controller Gurin said.
He stressed that it is the duty of security personnel to identify the on-the-run insurgents whom he stated, “are very lean, hostile and not friendly”, hence the significance of the workshop especially to security operatives both military and para-military.
