The new Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has ordered the state Accountant General, Mr. Olu Akindolure to commence the process of paying the outstanding seven months salaries owed Workers in the state.
Akeredolu who made the charge during his maiden meeting with Workers in the state said, the Accountant General along with other Accounting Officers in the state should work together and find a lasting solution to cases of unpaid salaries.
According to him, ”the Accountant General will have to explain why salaries had not been paid for over seven months”, adding that, if Workers’ salaries are not paid in subsequent months, no one will have to be paid henceforth.
Since life is full of undulated terrain like the Golf field, he urged workers to join hands with him to move the state forward so that,”at the end of the day, we shall all win”.
Contrary to situations where the state depend largely on what comes from the Federation account, he disclosed that the state government has completed arrangement to fast track the production of Bitumen with a view to  commence exportation before the end of June, 2019.
The Governor also disclosed that a cement factory will soon be established in the state to further enhance better improvement on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by his government.
He however urged Civil Servants to make good use of every available space in their residence to grow cassava and other cash crops in preparation for the ”rainy days”.
While charging the Permanent Secretaries to be dedicated to their duties, he assured that they will all complete their tenures, unless those that may be found wanting.
The meeting which was attended by Civil Servants across the board witnessed a special prayer session which was conducted by Pastor Joshua Odeyemi to usher in the new government and the new year.
