Routine Polio Immunization: Adamawa Records 100% Success

The Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, has commended the Adamawa Primary Health Care Development Agency (ADPHCDA)
traditional rulers, community mobilizers and development partner in the health sector over 101 per cent success recorded during the  routine polio immunization exercise.

Farauta, gave the commendation at the Outbreak Response (OBR2) review meeting for March 2024 organized by the State Primary Health Care Development Agency PHCDA.

According to her, with the success recorded so far, government is encouraged to set the ball rolling for  phase two of the statewide school deworming campaign and distribution of free delivery kits to pregnant women in the state.

The deputy governor maintained that the program is part of activities lined up for polio immunization targeted at 1.3 million children slated for May 20 to 23, 2024.

Earlier, Dr. Suleiman Saidu Bashir, Executive Secretary, Adamawa Primary Health Care Development Agency (ADPHCDA) disclosed that in the last one month,  the agency has recorded great feat in the area of routine polio immunization.

” The agency has recorded 94%  total immunizations coverage in 20 local government area, it has also address 61 cases of non compliance of polio vaccination in the state”, he stated.

Bashir maintained that the successes was made possible through the unrelenting efforts of  community mobilizer and the vaccination team.
