A three-day training for media practitioners in Nigeria, organised by Rotary Action Group for Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health has opened on Tuesday March 1, 2022.
The training is aimed at  informing all sexually active women and men that they can freely access family planning products and the benefits of using family planning products.
Professor Emmanuel Adedolapo Lufadeju said that journalists should concentrate and learn from the three-day training.
He said that this is the third online training in the series by the Rotary Maternal and Child Health.
He explained that there are now modern family planning techniques, which can be adopted with ease from the comfort of homes.
According to Mrs Asonibare Omolara, who gave out the media advisory ahead of the training on behalf of Rotary RMCH, the training will lead to creation of more awareness by journalists.
“It is our hope that information spread by the journalists through their country wide reports will contribute to the realization of better smaller manageable families for the people of Nigeria, thereby helping Nigeria to harness a Demographic Transition from its growing population.
“Effective family planning can reduce maternal morbidity and mortality resulting from child birth and pregnancy complications substantially,” she said.
