Drivers and other vehicle owners have been cautioned against reckless driving and overloading in order to save lives and properties on Nigerian roads.
The Bichi FRSC Unit Commander, Mr. Yakubu Z. Lar made the warning when the members of A-ihsan Drivers Association paid him a courtesy call in his office, where he disclosed that most road accidents were caused by reckless driving and lack of use of road rules and regulations which is a worrying issue.
Mr. Yakubu Lar added that FRSC was established for many purposes which includes the regulations and control of road uses to help in reducing road accidents as well as assisting roads users to maintain road rules and regulations in Nigeria.
He also advised drivers to always check their vehicles in order to ensure that all is well before moving or transporting goods or passengers to any destination for safe driving, while thanking drivers for visiting his command for the interaction which would serve as a channel to making transportation more successful.
Earlier speaking, the leader of the delegation, Malam Auwalu Rabo Yakasai told the commander that they were at his command to condole him over the death of his successor who died recently and to welcome him as the new commander of their unit and to also assure him of their maximum co-operation, whenever his officers and men were on duty along Kano-Katsina road.
He also stated that Al-ihsan Drivers Association was formed in order to unite the drivers of the area, and to continue filling all the potholes that cause accidents on Kano-Katsina highway before the commencement of the dualization of the road which is a very important task, where he finally commended Mr.Yakubu Z.Lar and his men for working very hard to enforce the reduction of accidents on Kano-Katsina road.
