The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has asked Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the task of developing the country in the years ahead.

The royal father emphasized that there is the need for all Nigerians within the social or political ladder they find themselves to play their part effectively well to develop the country and reposition it as a respected entity within the comity of nations.
“It is when all Nigerians work assiduously for the common good of the country that the nation as well as its citizens will hold their heads high as belonging to an entity that commands respects of other nations in the global arena. In achieving this noble objective, the leaders must endeavour to lead righteously while the led themselves must be diligent to the task of nation building,” Oba Ogunwusi said.
The Ooni pointed out that  leaders at all levels in the country should put in place measures that would stimulate mass employment for the teeming youths of the country, adding that the task of taking the nation to its divinely ordained glory should be a collective efforts of all Nigerians irrespective of religious, ethnic and other considerations.
Ooni Ogunwusi in the message gave his four pronged developmental agenda for the development of Yorubaland to include sports, tourism, agriculture and industrialization which are rooted in comprehensive efforts for youth developmental.
Specifically on agriculture, Oba Ogunwusi hinted that a vast land of about 30 square miles had been acquired at Ife reserve to drive massive agricultural revolution, for the cultivation of cash crops such as cocoa, rubber and palm, adding that, “by the time the project is completed, the farm would engage no fewer than 40,000 work force when it begins operations in the next few weeks”.
Already not fewer than 3,000 youths engaged at ongoing project site of Ife Grand Resort, spanning over 1000 acres of land established by the monarch to provide job opportunities for the people.
While rejoicing with Nigerians for making it through to the New Year, Oba Ogunwusi said “as we mark another celebration heralding a New Year, I salute all and sundry for being divinely worthy of Almighty God’s mercies that saw us through. While we bask in the euphoria of the celebration, I implore all Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the task of developing the country.”
