The Senator representing Bauchi South at the National Assembly, Senator Ali Wakili has disbursed the sum of N3m to 21 Mosques in Bauchi Local Government Area of the state for this year Ramadan feeding.
This was disclosed by the spokesperson of Ali Wakili’s Ramandan Feeding Committee, Mohammed Aliyu Songay while distributing the money to the leaders of the mosque at Bauchi Central Mosque on Monday.
He said out of the 21 Mosques, 11 will be given N150,000 each while the remaining 10 Mosques will get N100,000 each to feed their members in the month of Ramadan.
“Among the Mosques that will get N150,000 each are Bauchi Central Mosque, Bakin Kura and Gwallaga Mosque while Wunti Dada, Fadamar Mada, Baraya Mosque among others will each receive N100,000.
According to Aliyu Songay, the gesture would be a continuous exercise noting that all the seven Local government Areas in Bauchi South senatorial district will benefit from the gesture.
“We are starting from Bauchi Local government with the sum of N3m and we want to assure that arrangement has been concluded to extend the donation to the remaining six Local government in the constituency”.
Songay called on the leaders of the Mosques to use the money judiciously in order to ensure that all its members benefit from the feeding exercise.
One of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Gambo Baban Karatu from Awalah Mosque commended Senator Wakili for the donation, saying the gesture will go a long way to alleviate their suffering this Ramadan season especially with the hardship people are facing as a result of economic crisis.
Baban Karatu described as timely the donation of this money because, as he puts it, “We need a lot of help during this Ramadan season and we pray that God will reward him”
