Ramadan: NASFAT donates N500, 000 worth of food items to IDPs in Kaduna

In the spirit of Ramadan, Nasrul-lahi-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has extended hand of fellowship by donating food stuffs and clothing worth five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000) to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents ridden North East region of Nigeria.
Speaking while donating the items to the persons at Danhono I, New Millennium City layout area, the state Chairman of NASFAT, Engineer Muhideen Alimi Yusuf said the gesture was part of programs set out during the month of Ramadan to assist the needy.
He said it carried out the program to alleviate and improve the standard of living of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.
“We got a hint about the poor and deplorable condition of living in this community. And our coming here today confirmed that it is true, the situation is very bad.
“We urge government and associations to come to the aid of this community. They really need a lot of help.
“What we brought today is a token. The community needs much more than that. So we call on well to do persons to come to the aid of the Internally Displaced Persons scattered around the state.”
Chairman of the IDPs in the area, Malam Dahiru Saidu Mubi while receiving the items said, it has over 2,000 IDPs, complaining bitterly about the deplorable condition such as lack of shelter, insufficient food.
He said the gesture is first of its kind to the IDPs in the area as he called on other well to do in the society to emulate the kind gesture of NASFAT.
Earlier, the Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Maroof Muh’dRaji, described the situation which led to their displacement as a “test” while calling on the well to do in the society to come to the aid of the persons to earn Allah’s bounty reward.
“Share what you have with the needy for you to get the reward of Allah. We need to help the needy and the needy needs to help themselves too. They should be patient and live peacefully with people in the community,” Imam MuhdRaji stated.
Items distributed include food stuffs, beverages, clothings and shoes among others.
