Over 200 women attended Ramadan fast breaking on Saturday evening, organized by Hajiya Maryam Suleiman as part of alms giving gesture in honour of the holy month.
The event held at Secretariat of All Progressives Congress (APC), Kaduna State exceeded the scheduled and expected number of participants earlier pegged at 150, according to the organizer of the event, who expressed joy and satisfaction over the high turnout recorded at the Ramadan dinner.
Hajiya Maryam, who is Kaduna APC Women Leader disclosed that attendees who were served assorted African dishes pledged to reciprocate the kind gesture by praying for peace, progress and development of the state and Nigeria in general.
She paid a glowing tribute to Malam Nasir el-Rufai, attributing glory and success of the programme to the Kaduna Governor, whom she described as a compassionate giver with zeal and passion to improve social and economic wellbeing of the masses.
The philanthropist while soliciting support and prayers from fasting Muslims for God’s intervention on security challenges experienced in Kaduna and other parts of the country, assured to continue giving due attention to welfare of people, particularly women in the state.
” I had the rare opportunity of interacting with these women who came all the way to honour our invite in the spirit of the blessed Month.
” They have confided in me their worries and personal issues that need our attention at government level and by virtue of my position as the state ruling party women leader.
” I have equally assured them that I will swing into action with the aim of solving their problems and to forward to our listening Governor issues raised that are for his attention and action.
” I am optimistic We will overcome our challenges if We support the government by cooperating with constituted authorities and ensuring we contribute our quota towards ensuring sustainable peace and love for one another , ” she said.
