Pwajok , PDP Plateau 2015 Guber Candidate died @ 48, Lalong, Jang mourn

The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State in the  April 11, 2015 Gubernatorial election, Senator Gyang Pwajok  died Wednesday night  in an Indian hospital at the age of 48 after a protracted liver disease.
Pwajok took ill in May, and was unable to join his colleagues in the valedictory session of the 7th Assembly. He was flown out immediately to a London hospital, and subsequently transferred to India for a better medical care, where he eventually died.
He was a former Director, research and documentations Government House, and later Chief of Staff under Jonah Jang’s administration. He later became the Senator that represented Plateau North Senatorial district before vying for governorship of the state in 2015.
Confirming his death, media officer of Pwajok at electioneering, Chuwang Dung, told journalists on telephone, that an official statement would be issued by the Pwajok’s family.
A source within the family disclosed to news to newsmen that he died of a cancer of the liver related illness.
Meanwhile, both Governor Simon Lalong and Senator Jonah Jang mourned his demise describing the late Pwajok as a true son of Plateau State who will be missed by the state.
In statements separately issued in Jos, Lalong said he received the news of the demise with shock and “commiserate with his family, the Berom Nation and the National Assembly over this loss. He prays for God’s comfort and eternal rest for the soul of the departed Senator”.
Jang on his part said “as a detribalised man, Sen. Pwajok served his purpose through his sojourn in politics and his tenure in the Red Chamber by bringing together different people, divergent views and ideologies with the sole aim of unifying all. It is for this singular cause that he lived and flourished to his exit. His greatest desire even in death; is to see Plateau people and the nation at large become one unified, indivisible entity”.
