The Federal Government has been advised to immediately introduce palliative measure to cushion the effect of hardship being experienced by Nigerian masses.
Elder Statesman and business mogul from Plateau State, Alhaji Mansur Nakande, told the Federal Government to ensue prompt payment of workers salaries to reduce the effect of the recession and rejuvenate the economy.
He also called on the Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong to make good his campaign promises to the various communities in the state.
Nakande explained that every country is expected to adopt different strategies under a recession and economic hardship like the one Nigerian is now going through.
“Firstly, I want all to exercise some patient because all what we are seeing is the manifestation of the recession. This country has been on recession for a long period.
“We have been borrowing to pay salaries even before this government took over. We have been borrowing even at federal levels and states couldn’t pay and execute projects”.
According to him, APC government in Plateau State had made series of promises that when implemented would change a lot of things in the state.
“We want the state governor Simon Bako Lalong to look at some of his campaign promises so that those issues that are to be addressed would be treated”.
He said that is the only way that fairness and justice can be guarantee in the state where marginalization of some communities was witnessed under the past regime.
According to him, the recent increase in the internally generated revenue of Jos North Local government indicated a return of normalcy in the troubled area.
