Protesting Oyo Workers Observe Juma’at Prayer At State Govt Secretariat Gate

Protesting civil servants in Oyo State on Friday, observed the Juma’at prayer at the frontage of the state government secretariat Agodi in Ibadan as their protest entered the fifth day.

The civil servants under the auspices of the Nigeria Labour Congress Oyo State chapter assembled at the entrance of the Secretariat early in the day blocking the entrance with their cars and motorcycles.

At about 9am, some of the the labour leaders at the Secretariat addressed the protesting civil servants with a vow that they will not stop the protest until Governor Seyi Makinde personally address them on their demands.

Speaking with journalists at the Secretariat gate, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC), Comrade Kayode Martin asked Governor Seyi Makinde to address the demands of the protesting civil servants.

Comrade Martins stressed that if the demand are not been addressed the union will not call off the industrial action going on in the state and that by the end of the day,the union we call for the Congress and decide on the next line of action if their need are not been addressed at the of today.
