Protest: Court fixes hearing of Oyo NLC Chairman, 7 others trial for Aug 9

An Oyo State Chief Magistrate court sitting in Ibadan on Tuesday fixed August 9th, for the commencement of hearing of the suit instituted by the Oyo State Government against the State NLC Chairman, Comrade Waheed Olojede and seven other labour leaders in the state.
At the mentioning of the case Tuesday before Chief Magistrate Jamiu Adebisi, one of the counsels to the defendants, Barrister Abdulwaheed Adebowale informed the court that all the defendants are in court for the continuation of the case.
Oyo State Director of public prosecution who is the Prosecutor of the case, Mr Tajudeen Abdul Ganiyu told the court that he had prepare to invite some witnesses to the court to support his case filed before the court.
Chief Magistrate Adebisi while urging the prosecutor to prepare to bring the witnesses to court to ensure speedy completion of the case then fixed hearing of the matter for August 9th this year.
It will be recalled that the case was adjourned last week as a result of the inability of one of the defendants to appear in court due to ill health.
The 8 labour leaders were arrested by the police and subsequently arraigned before the Chief Magistrate court on Friday June 3, 2016 following their alleged disruption of a planned stakeholders’ meeting on the Public  Private Partnership of some secondary schools in Oyo on June 1st.
The labour leaders though granted bail that day, spent days at the Agodi Prison detention before perfecting their bail conditions the following Monday before being  released on bail.
