Equity Alliance Outlines Successes, Challenges Within  One Year

A Zaria based Non Governmental Organization (NGO), the Equity Alliance  Chairman, Alh. Magaji A. Baba has outlined successes and challenges  encountered by the NGO within the last one year

Speaking at its annual general meeting  In Zaria, he said there are many successes and challenges, among which is the  securing  of employment for unemployed immediate communities members.

He said, the organization has championed the fight against injustice in respect  of positions in  federal government establishments.

Magaji A.Baba mentioned that as a result of their petition against Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), the catchment area, many graduates ware employed from the area that didn’t witness such  for more than two decades. 

“The NGO has contributed its quota in ensuring that the catchment area retains the seat of Bursar and Registrar of Nigerian College of Aviation Technology ( NCAT) Zaria. 

“Also, Equity Alliance has influenced the prosecution of a regular rapist known as lili, who resides at Tudun Jukun Zaria,” he Informed. 

According to the Chairman, “Equity Alliance was at logger heads with a board chairman in the Federal Ministry of Health who suspended an accountant who is an indigene of Kaduna State and we thank Almighty God, the accountant is a Director of Finance in one of the federal hospitals in the nation. 

“Equity Alliance  petitioned ICPC and Federal ministry of Transport against the contractors of Zaria/Malumfashi Road and Zaria/Pambegua Road for abandoning the projects and as at last year, they were back to site.

“Accordingly, the NGO has facilitated the planting of 100 trees at the Nigerian College Of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria and 70 trees at the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology  (NITT) Zaria respectively.

“We were in court with ABUTH Shika for about 13 months and the case was settled out of court.

“Equity Alliance is currently before a high court with Zaria Local Government Area and Nigeria Police, over our struggles against injustice,” he added.
