Aspirant to the Federal House of Representatives from the Bauchi Federal Constituency, Hon. Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi has appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the National, State and Local Government levels to declare him winner of the just concluded party primary held in Bauchi.
He said Sunday at a press conference that unless the APC national committee responsible for the conduct of the primaries declare the results of the election within 24 hours, they will be compelled to make the results public through one of his agents that participated in the exercise.
Hon. Yakubu Abdullahi through his campaigns director-general, Hon. Ukasha Hamza Rahama told the press that he wondered why the National APC Committee that conducted the party primaries refused to announce the results 48 hours after the conduct of the election.
“To our dismay the election committee headed by Professor Ahmad Bakori Mohammad is yet to declare the winners of the House of Representatives primary elections 48 hours after the conduct of the exercise.”, he queried.
The campaign director-general described Hon. Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi as competent, reliable and stand the test of this season to contest for the seat of member representing Bauchi Local Government Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Hon. Ukasha Rahama who explained that the primary election for Bauchi federal constituency was conducted hitch free, fair and peaceful to all those concern with all security agencies that participated in the conduct of the primaries as living witnesses to the exercise.
“The election was peaceful and successful and Hon. Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi (Wakilin Birni) was seen as winner based on the verdict of voters, why can’t he be declared winner officially so that the tension in Bauchi city can be put to an end”, Rahama cried out.
Rahama, who observed that members of the committee that conducted the House of Representatives party primaries may have departed to Abuja for the APC national congress, stressed the need for the committee to without further delay release the results of the primary election to cool down tensions in Bauchi.
