Presidency Donates 10 Motorised Boats To Empower Bakassi Returnees

The National Chairman South South of the All Progressives Party, APC, Ntufam Hillard Ettah, has lauded the presidency and Border Communities Development Agency, BCDA, for donating 10 motorised fishing boats to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in Bakassi local government of Cross River state.
Ettah was speaking to newsmen after receiving the boats on behalf of APC executives at the party secretariat in Calabar at the weekend.
While describing the donation as a wonderful gesture, he advised the beneficiaries to see the gift as federal governments’ appreciation to their plight.
Ettah reminded that the boats are just part of the packages that the APC government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari has for the internally displaces persons in Bakassi and other states in the country.
He declared “I do know that there are lots of thiese kind of programmes coming your way in the nearest future”.
Ettah who dedicated the boats to the glory of God advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the gifts so as to attract more.
He commended the Nigerian Army of the 13 Motorised Brigade for contending with the issue of militancy in Bakassi. This, he said, will enable them to go about their fishing business without molestation and harassment.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Border Communities Development Agency, Engr. Numoipre Wills said the boats were donated to empower the returnees in Bakassi.
He said the boats are motorised with five horse power engine and fishing nets.
Numoipre said apart from fishing, there are other areas of assistance such as farming that his agency is giving out to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.
He said that the programme will be extended  to the Internally Displaces Persons in Katsina, Kebbi and Adamawa states.
