The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) has called on Nigerians to use the period of Easter and Ramadan to seek peace, unity and stability of the country.
The President Kaduna Council of the Societies, Barrister Zainab Hassan expressed this in her massages to felicitate with Christians for the Easter celebration and to the Muslims on the Ramadan fasting period.
According to her, the people should should remain fervent in prayers for the peace of the nation and learn to speak positive things about the nation for good things to begin to happen.
The NCWS president added that the call is imperative to foster unity and address security challenges in the country amid the kidnapping, terrorism, banditry and other security challenges bedeviling the nation.
“There is no doubt that these are trying times in our nation and I am optimistic that it will pass by God’s grace.
“The insecurity situation has posed serious challenges to the nation, especially as it affects health, religion, the wellbeing of Nigerians and the socio-economic development of the country.
“Let’s pray for peace in Nigeria and to our creator to reposition in accordance with His will and Glory,” she said.
She added that Nigerians, especially women, should pray in their homes for divine intervention in the 2023 general elections to be peaceful.
The president noted that women and children are believed to have a special place in the heart of God, therefore, they should continue to pray for God’s mercy over the insecurity.
