The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged Nigerians to use the Easter Season in praying to pray for the recovery of Nigeria’s ailing economy.
This was contained in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.
“In addition, we urge all Christians in Nigeria to use the Easter Celebration to reflect and pray for Nigeria’s continuous unity and peaceful coexistence.
“More so, for the comatose state of our Nation’s economy, we urge Nigerians and our religious leaders in particular to intercede for divine intervention to ease the citizens sufferings and untimely deaths,” it stated.
The former ruling party explained that the Senator Ahmed Makarfi’s led National Caretaker Committee  on behalf of the entire organs, leaders and other members of the PDP extends felicitation to Christians and indeed, all Nigerians on Easter which commemorates the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
“Jesus went the way of the Cross as a ransom for the Redemption of our sins and in fulfilment of the Almighty God’s providence for the restoration of mankind unto Himself.
“Just as He paid the Ultimate Sacrifice for our sake, we urge Nigerians especially, Christian faithfuls to make sacrifices for the good of others thereby emulating the virtues of Jesus’s sacrifice,” it emphasized.
