Security Operatives on Tuesday arrested a man identified as Mr Idom Jeremiah on top of the ceiling of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc , Birnin Kebbi branch in an attempt to rob the bank after working hours.
A staff of the bank who craved anonymity told New. Nigerian that the suspect entered the bank as customer but, after entering he went straight to toilet and removed his shoes and climbed on top of the ceiling of the bank and hid, waiting for the officials of bank to close and rob them.
” But luck run out for Mr Jeremiah when a staff of the bank who is a cleaner went to the toilet to clean only to discover slippers and drew the attention of the management of the bank who invited their security men at the gate and came into the toilet and sighted a man on top of the ceiling”.
“We asked him to come down but, he refused until we told him that we will shoot him if he refuses to come down and then he came down and we arrested him”
Confirming the incident to journalists, Kebbi Police Command PPRO, DSP Nafi’u Abubakar said the man has been taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), at the force headquarters.
