The Zamfara State Police Command has averted an attack by bandits on a cattle market in Talata Marafa Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu said a gang of bandits had stormed the Kara market in Talata Mafara town to cause mayhem and rustle cows before the swift reaction by the police foiled the deadly act.
Shehu said the quick intervention of the Police saved the ugly situation which would have led to casualities.
“Police on Market banditry patrol Swiftly responded and rescued 9 persons and also arrested 12 Suspects with offensive weapons and Assorted charms recovered from them”, he said.
The State Police Spokesman said all the suspects are in Police custody undergoing interrogation, and will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
