Police  Committed To Protecting Lives, Property Of  Oyo State Residents – CP Williams

Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams on Friday,  said that the State Police Command remains committed to the protection of lives and property of the people of Oyo State.

The Commissioner of Police stated this while speaking at a press briefing held to highlight activities of the command including the arrest of 10 suspects.

CP Williams pointed out that to this end, ” continuous strategic reviews and periodic restructuring of the command’s security architecture is emplaced to tackle any emerging or evolving security challenge.

” In view of the above, the command enjoins residents and other well meaning citizens to partner with it to ensure criminal elements in the state are completely dislodged and unsettled”, he said.

CP Williams added, ” in tune with our proactive policing strategy and reacting to emerging security challenges the State will witness more security presence. The Command however wishes to warn against unprovoked attacks on its Officers during the discharge of their duties as it would no longer be condoned while heavy sanctions await those found culpable”

Speaking on the success recorded by the command in flushing out criminal elements from the state, he stressed that 10 suspects are now in the net of the command for offences bothering on robbery including removing cars from park,

highway armed robbery,  armed robbery and murder.

The Commissioner of Police stressed that three suspects namely Akodu Sunday, 53, Daramola Adegboyega 50 and Kolawole Babatunde 46, were arrested  with 13 master keys as exhibits found on them.

For highway robbery, he stated that three suspects were arrested, namely,  Ibrahim Abdulahi, 19, 

Muhammed Shehu, 18 and

 Umaru Monde, 38, with 4 Bajaj motorcycles recovered from them 

On  alleged armed robbery and murder, the CP stated that four suspects identified as, Oyetumbi Ademola 25, Michael Adeniyi 26, Gabriel Adeniyi, 80 and Kafilat Tiamiyu, 50 were apprehended.

He gave exhibits recovered from the suspects as, “one cut to size locally made single barrel gun, two Samsung phones, one Itel phone, 1 Hyundai Elantra 1999 model car grey colour, two wrist watches belonging to the deceased Police Officer, two wedding band, one amulet and two herbal concoctions.
