PLSG Takes Anti-Corruption Fight To Public Office Holders

Plateau State government has flagged off an anti-corruption campaign to fight the menace of corruption among public office holders in the state.
The campaign with a slogan “I Support‎ The Fight Against Corruption In Plateau State” was unveiled by the
the Plateau Anti-Corruption summit by the Chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC),  Ekpo Nta.
In his keynote address, the ICPC Chairman, Ekpo Nta commended the Plateau State government for the initiative saying that government must check and stop corrupt practices at all levels, particularly in 17 local areas.
Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Sonni Tyoden who represented Governor Lalong at the summit, said bad governance is the first indication of a corrupt system and common in plateau state.
Provost, Anti-corruption Academy of Nigeria, Professor Sola Akinrinade, in his remarks, said the academy believes that the war against corruption must be fight by all for democracy to be consolidated in the country.
There were opportunities for invited guests to ask questions and offer suggestion on the launch of the summit.
The summit was organized by‎ Foundation for Transparency and Accountability, ICPC and the Plateau state government, had the theme: “Transparency & Accountability: A Panacea to Good Governance & Sustainable Development”.
