PLSG offers free eye treatment to 1,000 persons

The Plateau Government on Friday said over 1000 persons with eye sight problems have been treated free as part of celebrating World Sight Day in the State.
Dr Kuden Kamshak, State Commissioner of Health made the disclosure in a Chat with newsmen in Pankshin.
“Although the free eye treatment is still on-going, we have operated and restored the eye sights of 100 persons out of the 1000 person we have treated so far.
“This is a laudable programme introduced by the APC led administration in conjunction with with some health organizations and agencies, which Plateau citizens should key into,’’ the commissioner explained.
Kamshak, who described the free eye treatment being carried out in Pankshin General Hospital as very successful, commended the doctors who gave their time for the voluntary service.
According to him, the exercise would go along to save the lives of many from the trauma and pains of eye problems.
He further explained that the enlightenment campaign should be intensified to enable those at the rural areas come out en-mass and benefit from the three day exercise, which began last Thursday.
The commissioner explained that the healthcare of the citizens of the state was paramount to the Lalong led APC administration and would do all it could to make Plateau a healthy State toward reducing infant and maternal mortality.
