President Muhammadu Buhari has mandated former Lagos Governor and Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu to resolve the festering crisis among members and chapters of the party.
This was contained in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the initiative by the President is part of efforts to improve cohesion in the APC.
It said the assignment would involve resolving disagreements among members, party leadership and political office holders.
The terse statement read: “As part of on-going efforts to improve cohesion within the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari has designated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead the consultation, reconciliation and confidence building efforts.
“The assignment will involve resolving disagreements among party members, party leadership and political office holders in some states of the Federation.”
