Plateau State Security outfit gets new Coordinator

The Executive Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong has approved the appointment of Retired Major General Steven Gu’ar as the Coordinator of Operation Rainbow with effect from January 4th, 2016 as he assured of  reforming the state security body earlier known for controversies during the past regime
Major General Gu’ar is a member of the 11th Regular Combatant Course and was commissioned into the Nigerian Army in 1974. He is a Fellow of the War College and until his retirement from active military service in 2007, had held several Military Field Operation Command positions, the last of which was the Force Commander, Joint Task Force, Operation Harmony in Bakassi Peninsula.
Major General Steven Gu’ar is expected to bring his wealth of experience in field operations and peace building to bear in consolidating on security and peace building efforts in Plateau State.
The Governor expresses his profound appreciation to AVM Bala Danbaba Rtd, the immediate past Coordinator, for his selfless and professional service to the State. He wished him well in his future endeavour, while assuring him that his wealth of experience will still be relied upon as duty calls.
