Plateau Senator Flags Off Cash Disbursement To Constituents

The Distinguished Senator Diket Plang of Plateau Central Senatorial Zone and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour and Employment has  flagged off the disbursement of cash tokens as part of his empowerment programme in Kanam LGA.

Senator Diket Plang’s  first point of call was the palace of the Emir of Kanam LGA, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammadu Mu’azu Muhammadu lll. 

While at the emir’s palace, Senator Diket Plang intimated the royal father that his decision to empower the elderly, youth and women was necessitated by the impact of fuel subsidy removal by the federal government of Nigeria, a policy the Senator said,  will address permanently the cankerworm that has bedeviled Nigeria’s growth and development in no distance time.

Senator  Plang while at the palace shortly before proceeding to the business of the day, used the medium to specially condole the Royal father and the entire people of the locality over the demise of their illustrious sons and daughters, and prayed that God almighty forgives their sins and accepts their souls in paradise. 

“May God give you the fortitude to bear the loss,” the Senator added.

Responding, his Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammadu Mu’azu Muhammadu lll appreciated the Senator for his prompt intervention in coming up with empowerment programme at a time like this.

The monarch said such policy will go a long way to cushion the pains of the targeted beneficiaries in no small measure. 

The royal father urged the Senator to target massive youth empowerment in the area of securing them job opportunities especially the graduates. 

A gesture the royal father said, will make the youth independent and also contribute to the development of their communities and the nation in general.

The Senator assured the royal father that in no distant time, his fatherly admonition will be implemented as soon as government lifts embargo on employment.

The Senator, alongside his entourage didn’t waste time to the venue of the empowerment programme at GMSS, Dengi, where thousands of party fateful converged to witness the historic cash disbursement empowerment programme.

The programmes which was targeted at the elderly, youth and women, captured over 300 beneficiaries across the twenty electoral wards of the LGA.

The beneficiaries were selected across the polling units in each of the 20 electoral wards, targeting the aforementioned class.

The event witnesses the presence of party leaders, wards and LGA party representatives, youth and women leaders, traditional institution as well as community development representatives.

While doling out the cash empowerment to beneficiaries, the Senator appreciated them for giving him the mandate to represent them in the Red Chamber and assured them that with their prayers and support, the mandate given to him would not be taken for granted.

“We will collectively strive to put smiles on the faces of our people. Our youth would be given employment. We will empower the elderly and the women,  to make them feel belong”. The senator assured.

While appreciating,  Kanam LGA APC chairman, Alh Hussani Adafa thanked the Senator for putting smiles on the faces of many citizens and urged him to sustain the tempo.

The event climaxed with the presentation of  cash tokens by the Senator himself to respective beneficiaries as palliatives to support them in the current economic hardship.

Prayers and goodwill messages were showered on the distinguished Senator for his people’s centred representation.
